The spirit and programs of the Omaha Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts are based on the conviction that exceptional talent deserves to be supported. The Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge is the longest pedestrian bridge to link two states, Nebraska and Iowa. The Pedestrian Bridge is meant to provide safe crossing from Omaha (Neb.) to Council Bluffs (Iowa) over the Missouri River for walking and biking enthusiasts, connecting to 150 miles of trails on each side. The Cable Stay Bridge is 3,000 feet long, including the landings; the walkway is 15 feet wide and allows visitors to stand about 60 feet above the river.

Lights outline the deck, cables and pylons at night, a spectacular sight! On the Nebraska side, visitors can enjoy the 3-acre Omaha Plaza with an interactive water jet fountain, Fiber Wave Sculpture, River Critters Environmental Play Area and access to the National Park Service Visitors Center.

There is no greater way to feel the healing and hope Boys Town provides than by visiting the historic Village of Boys Town. Trees, flowering gardens, farmland, open spaces, memorial statues, and fountains create a picturesque setting that’s perfect for a leisurely drive. Maps directing you to all the attractions can be picked up at the Visitor’s Center. One of Nebraska’s top attractions, the beautiful Boys Town campus shares the history of Father Flanagan’s dream to care for America’s Children.

This multi-purpose convention center was the largest convention and entertainment complex in the city until the completion of Qwest Center Omaha in 2003.
